I suppose there is frying pan at home? u can pan fry ma
zzzz supermarket very idiot la..
those poor indian earn so little still want snatch business from them
they need more $$$ to buy gold
i would prefer Kawan brand from giant. Its so soft and crispy.
think the floury taste is that its not cooked enough.
i usually fry them in a 20cm or 8inch tefal saucepan(the one u fry ur egg with) with a tablespoon of oil. When the pan is hot, put the oil and heat to the tempreture u will drop your egg in. Put in the deep frozen(just remove from freezer or it breaks or tends to be sticky and messy) prata. Fry on low heat till cooked.
I also use that to make my girl's favourite. Baked soup. Just put the soup into a oven proof bowl, taw the prata a little and give it a good brush of stirred egg on the reams. put the prata with the egg surface down, press it firm to stick to the bowl, another layer of egg wash on the top, bake in the oven at 200c for 5-10 mins.
Other than Frozen Prata , Any one eat before other frozen pastry like frozen cakes, buns and desserts? how is the taste like?
Frozen prata can be used as a quick snack during tea time or breakfast.
I rmb I went to Giant supermarket and there was a promoter who demostrated how to cook it. Even if you do not have an oven, you can fry it using a non-stick pan.
No oil is needed and the prata comes in various flavours. U just need to cook it under low fire for about 10 mins and voila!... a crispy prata is right in front of your very eyes. I got addicted to it after 1 bite.
i dont really fry it, just smother butter on the pan and flip flip...

I ate their buns before. It tasted somewhat like outside hawker centers one. So, if you wish to save some money, actually those frozen pastry can be an economical substitute. But, eat in moderation.
ya, something I lazy I just take out my frozen prata and fry instead of walking to the hawker which is like 200m away from home, quite convenient and the frozen bun quite tasty if u steam it nice.
There are frozen desserts like Glutinous Rice Ball(tangyuan) quite nice too. anyone tried before?

frozen prata is roti prata except it is uncooked and can be stored in fridge after u cooked it, its become roti

u can DIY your own prata but the mama only sells his own DIY-ed prata.
Originally posted by Hey YO >+++( ~>:Yesterday I went NTUC and I came across this frozen food(pastry) section where they got frozen roti prata, bun and cakes and so I brought some home to try.The taste is almost as good as eating those outside ready-made prata and buns.
My Questions here are:
1. Do u like frozen pastry?
2. What brand of frozen pastry u like to eat?
3. What u felt or know about frozen pastry?
1. Yes
2. Chinatown (roti prata)
(Heard that the Kawan brand's is nice too)
3. I think it's just not AS fresh as the one sold in wet markets. Overall, if you're not the VERY 'sensitive' towards the meat used, then I think it'll be ok. (afterall, not all tze char stall use fresh meats)

Yes. I agreed with lianmaster 's opinion, and also u can make your own one-and-only prata for your loved ones rather than buy from outside for him or her.
If u wanna buy, I recommend u Chinatown frozen prata from NTUC,
if u never cook before -
prata preparation methods and u can start making your delicious prata for yourself or your loved ones
