Prius More Enviromentally Damaging Than BMW M3 by JC
His name is Jeremy Clarkson
it's how you drive..
you cannot get away from the energy trap..
anyway, if you drive the M3 like a lunatic, you will get pretty shit fuel economy..
however, if you drove like what Clarkson said, the most boring way of driving the bloody M3, you'll get that fuel economy..
btw... the Prius gets about 45mpg on normal driving while the M3 gets about 15
that being said, the world may end up being strip-mined for the stuff they need to build the bloody batteries with

Yes I know that -.-
Actually JC does make a point with the battery, I still don't get the hype of electric or electric-hybrid car. The concept seems wrong and the way they advertised is too. To me electric-hybrid/hybrid car are no better than car that runs on fossil fuel.
Fossil Fuel Car produce CO2 while driving and the fuel they come from, come from industry that also produce CO2 and harmful gases while producing these fuels.
Electric-hybrid/Hybrid car don't produce CO2 while driving, but CO2 is emitted while producing, transporting the batteries. You go home plug in the car for recharge and the car uses electricity produce by industry that burns fossil fuel to produce electricity which churns out harmful gases too. For some reason, car producer seems to want to make people believe that the hybrid/electric-hybrid car's batteries came from the sky by God and when they recharge by electricity, the electricity comes from the sky. Everything seems to come from the sky. =.=''
To me hybrid cars are just useless cars that manufacturer introduce to increase car sales as their normal cars volume are dropping, no point arguing fuel economy as there are cars that does not run on batteries yet able to achieve similar results.
there is more efficiency in producing the electricity than the internal combustion engine..
in fact, the internal combustion engine is one of the most inefficient designs ever made..
Motors are designed for torque because motors have limited variable speed unlike like a Internal Combustion Engine.
When you drive a hybrid, you will feel that torque provided from the motor comes only during the low rpm because the motor could'nt catch up with the engine when the engine rpm go high.
Once the engine goes on it's own, it will be a small engine dragging a heavy chassis. That explains why the consumption is so high.
imo.. they put the Prius on a level where it is not suppose to be at. Do you think that was why Toyota implement the electric motors? No, the electric motors are heavily meant for urban life traffic light/jams.
Well I believe that it Toyota actually make the Prius for city driving but because for some reason, the Americans started "I own a Prius so I am cool." thing which means that it loses it original meaning in the market, Toyota being Toyota just keep quiet about it. It's really pity that the car industry has really the lost the meaning of electric hybrid car, now if you put have hybrid electric car in your car range, you are considered a green car manufacturer.
Now I am wondering, how efficient is the electric-hybrid as compared to normal Euro5 vehicle?

ICE=70% energy wasted as heat.
