bros, lets not stereotype him as the 'beng maximumtune' or kiddo watever. we were all teenagers once not so long ago, just that we didn't have the internet to make ourselves sound stupid at times.
TS, the advise given by many here are very valid, get ur driving license first, when u pass, the model of cars available would be different. (if u pass the first time) the new GTR would be available, evo10 dsg box, accord coupe, nsx, maybe swift gti?? the main thing is to get ur license, maybe ur thinking would change, get more mature, and realise that fast car is not everything in ur life.
if ur dad is willing to give u 170k, u should learn to save for a rainy day. put some money aside for contingencies like accident, high insurance bills yearly, and for ur future too. save the money in some finanical instruments. spent like 60k for ur first car should be safe. whether u want to spend it on a 60k 2nd hand sports car silvia skyline etc, or a 60k new swift sports etc, its up to u. utimately its ur father's money, no one should tell u how to spend it.
just to share wif u my experience, once i also was very adamant about getting a sports car. in the end i got it regardless of the high ins premium and road tax, and petrol bills. the inital experience was shiok, but after a while the level of enjoyment goes down, and its just like any road going car, stuck at the same traffic jams, and difficulties in getting parking spaces. now i'm more into investing for the future. hope u will grow up being a responsible adult, and not a reckless young adult in the news for the wrong reasons. money is hard to earn, spend wisely bro.
u may not be able to digest all this now, but with time i hope u do.
cheers
